      How we became fans

On October 15th, 2008 our local radio station 97.5 WJIM held a charity event called The Pink Tie Affair to raise money for breast cancer research. It was to be a small, all acoustic show at a new local club. The bands listed were The Graduate, The White Tie Affair, Cute is What We Aim For and Boys Like Girls. We were already fans of Boys Like Girls and The Graduate, having seen both of them in concert before so we decided to go. Prior to the concert we picked up both Walk This Way and Rotation to hear the bands before we saw them. The first listen of Walk This Way had us both hooked. The show just seemed to solidify that we were already gone for this band. Playing acoustic isn't always easy for bands but these guys completely blew us away. They were by far the best performance of the night. Add to the fact that we were already in love with the music, right after they were done some of the guys were in the crowd meeting and greeting people. Of course we had to make our way over. We've both been Good Charlotte fans for a long time and I (Kelly) wear a set of MADE/DCMA knuckles always. When we saw Chris he had a matching set. I had to point it out and got a picture of us showing them off. We didn't get to talk a whole lot but it didn't take much to put the proverbial cherry on top of the experience.

Ten days later TWTA was opening for Metro Station in Detroit. I wasn't likely to pass up the chance to see them again so I headed down to the show. It was a great show in and of itself but even more fun to see a true show in comparison to the acoustic performance we had seen previously. It was also great to see more than four songs. Chris is definitely a showman and the show was a blast. To make it even better I got a few minutes to actually talk to Chris both before and after the show and met Sean P as well. Chris signed the picture I had taken of the two of us from The Pink Tie Affair and I even got a hug. How can you not love a guy like that?
